I went to World Market yesterday in search for some curtains.

These are cute.

But I think a little too turquoise for the room with this color scheme.

I also like these nesting tables.  Adorable.

I didn’t buy anything but some little red mugs.

Librarianne

I decided to apply to grad school at U of I, so I have been working my butt off all day on my essays.  And begging people to write me letters of recommendation (thanks, guys!)  Deadline is Saturday, so I may be stressing until then, but I am hoping to finish the paperwork during the day tomorrow and submitting it in the evening (Just before LOST), and then having a cocktail or ten.  I am such a loser, I might be going here tomorrow evening.  If I finish everything.

Confused

I need to go back to school, and I know I want to get a degree in Library Science, but I don’t know where to go!  I have two options if I want to be an ALA certified librarian.  I can go to U of I for an online degree (deceptive because some of the classes are not online) or to Dominican University for a “real” degree.  Employers never know if you got your degree online or not, so that’s not really an issue. 

I thought I would have the whole spring to decide, but I just found out that the deadline for U of I’s program is March 1.  And I need 3 letters of recommendation to get in.  That’s in 4 days.  Luckily I have a student teacher right now, so actually right this second she is teaching my class while I sit at the desk and type this.  So in theory, I could be filling out my application right this minute.

I finished my taxes, but I have recertification to worry about, and some financial mumbojumbo.

I just don’t know if I’m really ready for this.  Arg!

Vacay Dos

One night in PR we got to see a private concert by the Goo Goo Dolls. I am not the greatest GGD fan by any means, but I own a couple of their Cd’s. I thought the concert would be crowded and gross, but there were less than 500 people there. They did a cover of “American Girl” by Tom Petty, my fave song ever. They did run out of beer, though. This is us before the concert (actually dinner before the concert).

And in the rainforest where we went on a really cool hike.

Proj Run

Don’t you just love Project Runway? I am very very excited about the finale this week. I am rooting for Christian, not only because of his “fierce” clothing, and his acquisition of that word from the illustrius Tyra Banks, but the fact that he REALLY reminds me of a couple I knew in college.

Is this not Todd and Kim’s lovechild? He looks like the both of them, especially Todd. (This is a compliment to the both of you if you ever end up reading this)

I would love to put pictures of them online, but I feel that might be an invasion of their privacy. So just imagine the two people it would take to have this

indie, indie, fierce, fierce kid.

And, we’re back!

After one canceled and two delayed flights, about 8 hours in the Orlando Airport staring at children wearing Goofy Hats (Disney TM), and a few in-flight beverages, we are home safe and sound.  I am SO happy to be here, and Taco Bell was very happy to see me around midnight last night.  (More on the lbs gained later).

I got a new camera right before we started this trip, and forgot to replace the memory card with one that would hold more than 20 pictures.  At first I was upset about this, but I soon realized that this would make me only keep the pictures I liked from the trip, because I had to keep deleting the bad ones.  Great Idea.

Usually our vacation photos consist of Brendan and I with:

1.  Stray cats we try to pet

2.  Other animals we try to kidnap (in this case, an iguana)
So let’s get that over with first.

I made a conscious effort to take pictures of us and not just cats.  Especially after this black and white one bit me.
