Ruminations of a future birdcage head

Can you wear a birdcage veil with short hair?  I haven’t seen it done.  Oh the perils of short hair.

House Update

During the rainstorms of the past few weeks we have discovered that there is more than one leak coming into our house.  And speaking to the neighbors last saturday (we share a roof) I found that we aren’t the only ones with this problem.  So we have to get a new roof!  Woo Hoo!

We are getting estimates this week.  At this point, I don’t care how much it costs, I just want to feel like the house is secure.  We have no blinds on the second floor because the drywall they were attached to was soaked and they began to fall off.

So I still won’t be buying that see-saw sofa anytime soon.

I need new strappy sandals for summer, and in the interest of saving money, we are perusing Target today.

AND NOW THEY COME IN RED! Be still my heart! I am buying these ASAP.

These would look really good for the bride/bridesmaid photo with the red shoes!

Real Wedding Update

So what is actually going on in my bridal world:  We are working on a contract with The James, and one of the reasons I love them is that they are willing to negotiate.  Some of the things I couldn’t do without:

1) Unlimited champagne for the head table

2) A champagne toast (usually not included)

Can you tell I love champagne?  Usually i’m a red wine drinker, but I also tend to spill and in a big ‘ol white dress this could be a lethal combination.

I am slowly looking for a photographer and florist.  I don’t know how far ahead I need to book them, but I would like to get engagement photos taken some time between now and October, and it would be nice to have that included in our photography package.

We won’t be doing a tasting with cake or food till 2009, sheesh.

Bridesmaids:  My friend Abby gave me advice to keep them on hold until I find a dress.  They will probably be wearing black with red shoes.
