I am supposed to be dressed up as Marge Simpson in a very cute costume that my future Mother-In-Law made me. Instead I am stuck here in bed, sick as a dog. And I actually like Halloween.
Boo.

We have a very tiny garage. Very, very tiny. But one thing you cannot find in the city is an attached garage, and we have one. It very much sold me on our condo. Our garage is a one-car and it is very tight on the right and left side of the car. I have never scraped the car, but you-know-who has. A few times.
Luckily, the garage is deep enough that we are able to store a ton of stuff in it. The problem was, that even though everything was in waterproof containers,
they were stacked on top of each other, which led to much frustration when looking for something seldom used. We were able to add shelves yesterday. We bought rubbermaid shelves at Menards and put them in the garage.
These are the shelves we bought (almost double the price at Target then Menards) What a huge difference it made! Here they are in our garage.
You can see that some of the bigger containers don’t fit, so I need to fanagle some setup for them.
Now I just need to stop by the Salvation Army because my trunk is filled with junk to drop off!

Today I take the day off to sit while Polish men replace my windows. I have my coffee and my new book:
And I think I’ll catch up on some much needed blogging and Google Reader.
Goodbye, cruel windows, goodbye.
I can not even describe to you how exited I am to turn on the heat. We have been making do with blankets. And sweaters, and slippers. Even Stanley is cold. BTW sorry Stanley.
You’ll be locked in the bathroom all day.

Just in case.
I am off to the library and the Gym, in a desperate attempt to look thinner tomorrow. Please don’t do a rain dance. Please.

Do I get a cute umbrella and stick it out for engagement pictures? They could be charming. Or just cold and miserable.

When at the Capitol Grill, we had a waiter that insisted he was Pennsylvania Dutch, and kept talking about the popovers his mother used to make. Brendan has never had popovers, and they didn’t actually serve them at the Capitol Grill, so I decided to make them when Brendan returns from a business trip on Saturday.
The following high-rise popover recipe makes the perfect Sunday breakfast dish. Serve them hot from the oven with unsalted butter and strawberry jam. It was created by Flo Braker, who began writing The Baker column for The Chronicle in 1989. She is the author of: The Simple Art Of Perfect Baking
2 eggs
1 cup milk, at room temperature
1 tablespoon melted butter, or vegetable oil
1 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
INSTRUCTIONS: Adjust the oven rack to the lower third of the oven; preheat the oven to 400. Grease each popover cup generously with softened butter or solid vegetable shortening.
Combine the eggs, milk, melted butter, flour and salt in a blender or food processor; process for about 40 seconds. Be sure to scrape down the sides of the bowl a couple of times and blend until the mixture is completely smooth.
To make by hand, whisk together the eggs, milk and butter in a large bowl. Add the flour and salt and beat until very smooth.
Pour the batter into the greased cups, filling them half to two-thirds full. Bake until the popovers are puffed and golden brown, 35-40 minutes. Do not open the oven door during baking or the popovers will collapse.
Yields 6-8, depending on the size of the baking cups
Per popover: 105 calories, 4 g protein, 14 g carbohydrate, 4 g fat (2 g saturated), 61 mg cholesterol, 177 mg sodium, 0 fiber.

This sunday we are getting our e-photos taken! I have an appointment for a blow-out, I’m going to do my own makeup, and I bought a few new things to wear. I got a little black jacket at H&M (it’s not available on their website. And new shoes!
They are by Madden Girl. I had to order them to be delivered to my house, so cross your fingers that they arrive by Sunday!
And this sweater from Old Navy. I am also going to wear dark jeans. I don’t know about jewelry. Any suggestions?
