Oh F That

I had a relatively good day at work today, and went to the gym and dry cleaner like a good girl, only to come home to THE ENTIRE BUILDING’S mail shoved into our mail slot. Mail for 5 units, and then some for people who haven’t lived here in years. So I divvied it up, and went back outside (15 degrees) to put it in the correct places. There was a package laying in the middle of the driveway, so I picked it up and Surprise! it was a package of my mail-order prescriptions! Laying in the middle of the road.

When I got inside I discovered that I left the freezer open all day.

Roomba Love

I have wanted something to clean my floors for a while, and a regular vacuum just wasn’t cutting it.  We have a fireplace, which we actually use, and the effect of vacuum+ashes= ashes in air.  A lot of ashes in the air, so it’s a bit counter-productive.  I also have a champagne colored hand held dirt devil kone, as seen here.

But it isn’t incredibly strong, especially on cat hair that is embedded in the carpet.  So I have been eying the roomba for about a week.

It’s so pretty, no?  I bought it today, the newest version, because I have read that the older ones (though much cheaper) aren’t as effective.  It’s actually much bigger than I would have thought, about a foot across.  It ran for about 45 minutes before dying and docking itself again to charge.  It made the cat very nervous.

In personal news, I fell down the stairs, but my back is feeling much better, thank you!

Home Ideas

Here are some ideas I have for our unusable second floor.

This lovely daybed.

The second floor is such a mess- it has just become the area where we put everything we don’t know what to do with.

I also like these cabinets from Ikea.

As you can see, I am having a hard time with a color scheme. Maybe Red/Black/Gray? The carpeting is beige.
